PSNI expect traffic delays during Bloody Sunday event

Police in Londonderry are advising motorists to allow extra time for journeys in the city centre on Sunday afternoon while the annual Bloody Sunday commemoration takes place.

Participants and bands will assemble from 2.30pm at the shops on Central Drive, Creggan and will proceed to Guildhall Square via Central Drive, Linsfort Drive, Iniscarn Road, Rathlin Drive, Southway, Lone Moor Road, Brandywell Avenue, Lecky Road ,Westland Street, Laburnum Terrace, Creggan Street and William Street.

Several thousand participants and six bands are expected to take part and motorists are advised to allow extra time for any journey that includes parts of the route, and to be aware of pedestrians.

Speeches at Guildhall Square will take place at 4.30pm and the event is due to conclude at about 5pm.
