In a statement on Facebook, Police Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon said last night: “Police received a number of reports of horses on the M1, eastbound on slip at Junction 11 Portadown (where the M12 changes to the M1).

“Police located four horses in a green area.

“It was dark and we did not want the animals to come to any harm so we have had to seize them and bring them somewhere safe.

“We need your help to locate their owner.

“If you are, or know the owner, please get in touch with us on 101 and quote reference 1422 of 3/11/2020.”
