PSNI silent on fruit weapons

THE PSNI have refused to say if anyone has been arrested for brandishing fruit, vegetables, children’s toys, false limbs or newspapers because it would cost too much to find the information.

The police have also refused to say how many “little people/midgets/dwarves” were arresed for the same reason.

The estimated cost of complying with the Freedom of Information requests would exceed the “appropriate costs limit,” the PSNI said.

One of the requests was for information on the strangest ‘weapon’ for which someone was arrested for brandishing in 2011.

“By ‘strangest’ weapon, I mean things people wouldn’t normally consider weapons, such as: fruits, vegetables and other foodstuffs, children’s toys, false limbs, trees (or parts of), cushions (or other soft furnishings), bikes, books, magazines, newspapers and other paper items.

“If I could get clarification whether people were arrested for wielding any of the above items, I would be very grateful,” the requester asked.
