PSNI warning on snowball crime

WITH more snow forecast for this week, police have warned that snowballing could become a criminal offence.

Issuing the advice, Inspector Pete Bouma confirmed that damage or injury resulting from a thrown snowball would, if reported, be subject to a police investigation.

“I don’t want to lecture anybody or to spoil anyone’s fun but people have to be made aware of the potential danger of snowballs, particularly those made with ice,” he said.

“We have already received reports of cars which have been damaged and we have had complaints about the activities of young people at the bus station.”
