Public disorder

Police attended a report of public disorder at the Moss Park area, Foyle last night,Thursday, July 19.

At around 10:30pm, it was reported that a large number of youths were in the area and built a barricade on the road. The barricade was then set alight a short time afterwards, causing disruption in the area.

A number of missiles were thrown at police in the area, who were attending a report of the disorder. No officer is believed to have been injured.

A car was also damaged at around 8:30pm at the Glengalliagh Road, Shantallow area.

Two males aged 18 years old and 43 years old were arrested for riotous behaviour and assault on police. Both men are currently helping police with their enquiries. No further disorder was reported after the arrests were made.
