It is hoped that the potential £7m investment will bring the school to the heart of the town as part of the regeneration of Portrush.

Mill Strand parent, Gemma Reid, will give a short presentation on the Mill Strand vision at the open meeting at the Town Hall on Thursday June 2 at 7.30pm.

This will be followed by an opportunity for the community to discuss and contribute to the school’s ideas.

This is an informal event where participation is encouraged through sharing ideas on the general themes relating to how a new school for Mill Strand could benefit the wider Portrush community.

“As a parent at the school, and a supporter of integrated education, I obviously would like to see Mill Strand grow to meet the demand for the integrated places in the school”. said Gemma

“But I also believe that the school’s plans for the future have something to offer the entire community. “

Gemma went on to add: “This could be a fantastic opportunity for all the local schools to work more closely together.

“And there would be opportunities for other local community groups to use the new facilities too.

“A community facility like this could help make Portrush a more attractive place to live, work and visit.”

The Parents’ Council welcome any member of the local community to the meeting and look forward to hearing their views.
