Public urged to help with new blitz on city’s dirty dog owners

Lisburn City Council is asking all residents to help with its proactive approach to combat dog fouling across the Council area.

Councillor Jenny Palmer, Chair of the Council’s Environmental Services Committee, said: “Over recent weeks the Council has been carrying out a dog fouling blitz across all urban and rural areas of Lisburn. During this time the dog owners and dog walkers observed have been vigilant and are cleaning up after their dogs. The Dog Warden Service wants to ensure that this continues and is appealing for help from members of the public.”

She added: “I would encourage all residents to report any incidents of dog fouling to the Council. Please be assured that your name will be kept confidential. Report any offending dog owners and dog walkers immediately to the Council on 028 9250 9394; and tell us the name and address of the offending dog owner, if you know it, with the location and approximate time the dog fouling took place. A description of the dog always helps. The Council’s Dog Warden will investigate your complaint immediately.”
