The case had been adjourned from a previous court for a short sentence report to see if he was suitable for community service.

The court heard that at 3am police received a 999 call from the partner of the defendant, who said he had taken the house key and would not give it back.

McComb punched his fist through the kitchen window and smashed a window of a vehicle belonging to a neighbour.

McComb had paid for the damage to the kitchen window but not for the damage to the car which came to £322.26.

Imposing the community service order Deputy District Judge, Mr Neil Rafferty, told the defendant: “If we meet again one of us is going to jail and it’s not going to be me.”
