Pupil stabbedat St Columb’s

POLICE in Londonderry have confirmed that a 13-year-old boy has been stabbed by another pupil at st Columb’s College.

The PSNI received a report at around 6pm last Friday, October 7, but the incident took place earlier in the day.

It is alleged the boy injured in the stabbing was attacked by a 12-year-old boy. The injured party was treated in hospital for a puncture wound in his stomach but was later released.

The alleged attacker was arrested but was later released pending further investigations. In a statement a spokesperson for the school said: “ I can confirm that there was an incident in the ground of the school at lunchtime on Friday, October 7, during which a pupil sustained an injury requiring medical attention.

“There’s an ongoing investigation which at this time prevents us from making further comment.”
