Pupils add interest to Credit Union quiz

THE Larne and Inver Primary School quiz team has won a place in the national final of the Irish League of Credit Unions annual quiz,

Although the competition has been running for many years among local primary schools, this was the first time that Larne and Inver had entered a team. The team members all displayed great general knowledge throughout the contest.

The winning teams from 18 Credit Unions in Chapter 2 met in Ballymena to compete in the second stage of the competition. This was a much tougher contest as they were up against teams that, like them, had won their opening match.

At the end of 12 rounds of questions that would have challenged many adults, Larne and Inver Primary and Glenravel Primary were leading and were level on points.

Even after three tie-breaker rounds they were still tied, so both teams qualified to reach the national final in Dublin in April, when they will compete aginast 100 teams at the RDS in Dublin.

Following in the footsteps of Olderfleet Primary School, whose team reached the final in 2009, the Larne and Inver pupils are wished all the best for their memorable day out.
