Pupils peform 'extremely well' at Coleraine College

THE principal of Coleraine College has congratulated his pupils on their A Level results.

Results at the Carthall Road school continue to improve.

Headmaster, Shane Laverty, said: “At Coleraine College our A Level students have this year performed extremely well, proving once again that we provide an interesting and varied suite of A Level subjects, in which our students can and do achieve the grades necessary for further and higher education career paths.

“43 percent of our pupils achieved three or more grades A* to C, an increase on last year of 18 percent.

“85 percent of the pupils achieved two or more A Level grades at A* to E grades.

“This year Coleraine College will again continue to run its A Level courses, and prospective students transferring from other schools in the area can avail of these, and other courses available through the Coleraine Area Partnership arrangements.

“This means that whilst students enrol in Coleraine College, they can also follow other post 16 options available in partner schools using the CALP timetabling arrangements.”

Mr Laverty added: “It is worthwhile remembering that none of our pupils would have done the now abolished 11+ exam.

“The results achieved are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff of this college and the effort and hard work of our students.

“Any student wishing to enrol for A Level courses should contact the school office on 70357000 for information on how to proceed.

“At Coleraine College our emphasis is on teaching, learning and caring together.”
