The initiative was organised by New Mossley Community Group, in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

Pupils from both schools planted trees with help from their teachers and classroom assistants, as well as NIHE representatives John Read and Colin Baker, and David Rush and Jack Shaw from New Mossley Community Group.

The local community group is currently progressing a number of environmental improvement projects around the estate.
