‘Pupils, staff and parents should take great pleasure in these results’

Pupils like Hannah Ali, with 7 A* and A grades, were overjoyed when they opened their results on Thursday, August 21.

Danielle Crosbie, Denisa Hasieberova, Sophie Hagan, Katie McCoy, Jason Prause, Glen Speers and Chloe Swain also achieved fantastic results with multiple A grades.

The school’s results in the top grades of A* and A increased by 30 per cent to a new record high, while at all levels below the numbers of grades also increased.

All pupils who completed Year 12 achieved GCSE qualifications and no-one is leaving the school with no qualifications.

“All involved in the GCSE results, pupils, staff and parents, should take pleasure in these results. The amount of work that has been done is not to be underestimated and many of these students will be returning to carry on with their studies with us,” Mr Hayes said.

The headmaster explained that the school has an excellent track record of producing pupils with A Level successes who achieved the minimum entry grades at GCSE.

“Some pupils take longer than others to mature in an educational sense and, despite the efforts of our staff, some of our pupils’ aspirations at GCSE are too low. When they realise they can do well in national exams they blossom and at A Level their grades are outstanding,” he added.
