‘Purple’ train on track for Whitehead

Whitehead is to feature in U105’s fundraising efforts for the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.

A week (September 29 to October 5) of ‘Operation Purple’ events is planned across the province in support of the charity, including an opportunity to hop on board the Superheroes Steam Express train from Belfast to Whitehead on Saturday, October 4.

Superheroes, according to NI Hospice, will be riding on the steam train, which departs from Belfast Central at 10.55am and 1.30pm and passengers are invited to dress up as their favourite character. Tickets cost £12

The programme also includes a Heroes & Legends exhibition at Kings Hall Conference Centre on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday 5.

U105 presenter Maurice Jay, said: “‘Operation Purple is a great way for families, friends and colleagues to get behind U105 in our efforts to support the NI Hospice. U105 listeners have helped raise over £400,000 for NI Hospice in recent years and we need your support again this year to break the £500,000 mark.”
