Put your best foot forward for Glens trek

Kerry Fokkens of Larne Leisure Centre and Louise Magill from the Prom Cafe are calling on Larne walkers to put their best foot forward and take part in the Ulster Cancer Foundation’s (UCF) Glens of Antrim charity trek on Sunday, May 6.

Neill Grainger, UCF Senior Development Officer, said: “All three walks start and finish at Glenariff Forest Park, with the toughest being an 18-mile hike over forest trails, roads and uneven mountain terrain. There is also a 12-mile walk over a similar, but easier route, and a six-mile walk along main forest trails which will be guided throughout as it can be very steep in places.

“On arrival, you will be placed into groups according to your ability, with one guide for every 10 walkers. A booking fee of £10 secures your place and we are encouraging participants to raise a minimum of £40 for UCF.”
