Q&A with Julie Harper

JULIE Harper, 38, is a music teacher in Sullivan Upper School and also teaches singing and works freelance with her music company Jam Factory. She set up Lisburn Community Children’s Choir in January and on Friday, June 14, at 7pm, the choir will stage a concert at Lisburn Cathedral.

Julie is married with three kids and has lived in Lisburn for the last eight years.

What do you like doing on your day off?

Having family days, we are members of Belfast Zoo so we hang out there a lot, or head home to Fermanagh.

If you were to choose your favourite meal what would it be, where and why?

Eating out at the Ramore Wine Bar in Portrush, love their desserts.

What has been your proudest moment?

Giving birth to my three kids, Charlie 6, Lauryn, 4 and Lucie, 2.

What was the most frightening moment of your life?

I did a shark cage dive in South Africa seven years ago, not relaxing standing in cage surrounded with fish guts and a great white heading towards you! Also I did a skydive in Byron Bay, Australia, which was hairy enough too!

How would you describe your taste in clothes?

A bit of a tomboy. Still love a surfy look, hoodies etc. wear a dress once a year for the school concert in the Ulster Hall.

What would you do if you won a million pounds?

Give half away, go travelling and pay off the mortgage

What was your most embarrassing moment?

Asking a famous rugby player, who played for the British Lions, if he knew much about rugby at the sideline of a match my husband was playing in.

What music do you like?

Loads - everything from Rock to classical, music theatre to pop. I love U2 and Coldplay and some of the angry chicks like Pink and Alanis Morissette.

What sports person do you most admire?

The late Seve Ballesteros

Describe your best ever holiday. What would your dream holiday be?

A trip along the Garden Route in South Africa from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. It would be a dream to go back and take the kids there. Would also love to take them to Lima, Peru and Vancouver, Canada.

What is your greatest remaining ambition?

To do more travelling.

If you could spend a day with a celebrity whom would you choose?

Channing Tatum - gorgeous.

If you were stranded on a desert island what three things would you want with you?

iPad (with solar charger), piano and high factor sun cream. Could I sneak some salt and vinegar crisps inside the piano?
