Question Time with Moyle young people

A panel of Moyle District Councillors recently found themselves under immense scrutiny when a number of young people from across Moyle made the most of the ’Young People’s Question Time’ event held at Moyle District Council’s Offices last week.

‘Young People’s Question Time’ saw a panel of local Moyle councillors: Cara McShane (Sinn Fein), Joan Baird (UUP), Donal Cunningham (SDLP), Paudie McShane (Independent) and Colm Thompson (Sinn Fein) spend the evening answering a diverse range of questions posed by the audience of young people from youth clubs across Moyle.

Ably moderated by local psychologist, author and lecturer Dr. Bob Curran, the event provided a great chance for the young people of Moyle to engage with local politicians and quiz them on some of the issues that are important to them.

The panel of Councillors spent the evening answering questions that ranged from: ‘What are the Councillors doing to promote Good Relations in Moyle?’ to ‘What measures are being put in place to deal with emergencies like extreme weather events?’.

The panel was also probed on issues such as youth provision and leisure facilities in Moyle.
