Questions over retail project

PROGRESS on a planning application for a neighbourhood centre in Castlemara has been delayed after Council members claimed there were a number of ‘outstanding questions’ over the project.

“The office meeting to discuss the project was adjourned until September 14 because we think there are still some outstanding questions that need to be answered by the consultees,” said Councillor David Hilditch.

“We have asked the Roads Service to attend the next meeting, as given that the application includes a petrol filling station, it will undoubtedly result in more traffic. Although we are happy with the investment in the area, there also needs to be clarification over infrastructure and other issues.”
