Due to get under way at 8pm on the night, the open event is being organised by members of the Loyal Orders who routinely meet in the Quilly hall.

Organisers stress the service is open to the entire local community and everyone will be made most welcome.

The evening will consist of a selection of traditional Christmas carols and readings.

This will be followed by a festive supper for all those in attendance, with a retiring offering being taken for a local charity.

One of the organisers, Mr William McMinn, Worshipful Master of Quilly Star of Bethlehem RBP 10, added: “I would encourage as many people from the local area to join with us along with their family, friends and neighbours, so that as a community we can celebrate this special time of the year in an informal and relaxed environment, whilst keeping it traditional to allow everyone to take part in the singing.”
