“In Lisburn there are currently 2,535 people on the waiting list.

“This is a shameful state of affairs in 2014. Getting housing right is essential. It is essential for stimulating economic growth, for reviving our ailing construction industry and, on a human level, for protecting the dignity of every woman, man and child in our community. The people of Lisburn expect and deserve affordable housing.”

Mr Quinn continued: “It was disappointing that the Social Development Minister cut the new build housing targets set by the SDLP by 40%.”
