The event was organised by Gwen Robb, who is in charge of the school’s kitchen.

Mrs Robb has already helped Downshire School raise funds to purchase two defibrillators and has been awarded a BEM for her efforts.

Mrs Hall, principal at the school said: “We at Central Primary School are delighted with the amount which was raised at the quiz and are extremely grateful to Mrs Robb for all her hard work in organising the event.”

The table quiz raised just under £1400, which will be enough to purchase the potentially life-saving piece of equipment and pay for staff to be trained in its use.
