The court heard that on August 16 this year a police mobile patrol detected the defendant, an ‘R’ driver, travelling at 65mph, 20mph over the restricted limit, on the Northway in Portadown.

An inspection of the tyres found that both the front tyres were defective, with one of them devoid of any tread.

Mr Pat Vernon, representing the defendant, said his client was an apprentice tiler and had bought remould tyres, because he could not afford better tyres, and did not check them.

He added that on this occasion Jordan was with a number of friends who were in their cars and he was following them.

District Judge, Mrs Bernie Kelly, said that if Jordan continued in this way he would lose his licence.
