For breach of a traffic sign he was also fined a further £100.

The court heard that a police patrol at a junction on the Northway at 2.27am saw a vehicle travel through when a red light was showing.

The officers then had to drive at speeds of up to 90mph per hour to catch up with the vehicle.

Mulholland said that he believed he had been doing 65mph to 70mph and the light had been green.

A solicitor representing Mulholland told the court that his client was still a restricted driver.

District Judge, Mrs Bernie Kelly, told the defendant he should watch his speed in the future.
