Race for peace thanks

BALLYCASTLE SDLP councillor Dónal Cunningham praised the 100 pupils from Cross and Passion College, Ballycastle, who took part in the international relay race – Run4Unity - at Stormont.

“In particular I would like to praise the efforts of pupil Conleth Burns who proved to be the driving force behind the effort, and to teacher Siobhan Mullan who penned a song, which was performed in Parliament Buildings to mark the day’s events.

“Run4Unity is a youth relay race with a difference. The baton - a virtual one is passed around the world from one time zone to the next via an internet link.

“This event was a symbolic way of connecting young people throughout the world, with the aim of to uniting people to express a common desire to work for peace and unity across the globe,”
