Rachel Rea tributes continue to pour in
Further tributes have been paid to former Larne Borough Council member Rachel Rea, who passed away aged 93 on July 6.
Cllr Ruth Wilson stated: “I would like to pay tribute to Rachel Rea one of the first women in local politics with 35 years respected and distinguished service to our local community”.”
Alderman Maureen Morrow commented: “A great wee lady who worked hard for all the people of Larne and Carnalbanagh for many years. She left a large pair of shoes to fill. It was a pleasure knowing her.”
Cllr Gerardine Mulvenna added: “A true lady. We were the only two female councillors for a number of years and was a great friend. Her independent and ‘can do’ attitude was an inspiration.”
