Railway Group to respond to DRD consultation

THE Northern Corridors Railway Group (NCRG) are preparing a response to the Department of Regional Development’s consultation on the Coleraine – Derry/Londonderry rail line.

The DRD are conducting the consultation in connection with future investment for the line.

Local councillors had agreed last month that a response should be facilitated via the NCRG and a meeting of the group to consider a draft response has been scheduled for this Tuesday, March 26th.

However due to the timescales involved, it will not be possible to get Council approval of the

NCRG response prior to the consultation closing date.

Councillors agreed that the NCRG proposal should be submitted and that it be retrospectively agreed at the next Policy and Development Committee meeting in April.
