Rally delight for Garry at Lurgan Park

Garry Jennings grabbed the Lurgan Park spoils on Saturday thanks to an emphatic success in the Orchard Motorsport-sponsored annual rally.

The event - promoted by North Armagh Motor Club with support from Craigavon Council - featured the Fermanagh driver on the winner’s podium ahead of a multiple-Lurgan Park champion, Kenny McKinstry, plus Kevin Kelleher.

Jennings’ inaugural success in the main Lurgan Park meeting arrived thanks to a 12-second gap over McKinstry in front of the sizeable crowd. However, the top-two competitors shared the upper hand across the initial stages before Jennings gained control on the gravel section to put the defending Irish Forestry champion in the Lurgan Park driving seat.

Jennings - on his first Lurgan Park outing in a WRC machine - eventually eased home to add to his previous haul of GpN honours at the popular venue.
