Ramble on Long Mountain

BALLYMONEY Borough Council in association with the Bank of Ireland welcomes everyone to come along on a 4 mile circular Long Mountain ramble which follows the country laneways and turf roddens in the vicinity of Carness top and Ballymacaldrick Mountain, and passes adjacent to the spectacular Garves Wind Farm.

Walkers will be joined by the owners/operators of the wind farm and can avail of the opportunity to find out about the benefits and opportunities offered by wind energy. Weather dependent, there may be a chance to visit nearby Lough Naroon and take in the magnificent views from Long Mountain.

After the return walk to Dunloy village, welcome refreshments will be made available. Walkers should bring warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy boots as the route may be quite wet/marshy in places.
