Random vehicle attacks 'could lead to tragedy'

POLICE have warned there could be tragic consequences after a stone was fired randomly at passing traffic in Dervock.

Sergeant David Moore of Ballymoney PSNI was speaking after an incident was reported at 11pm on June 29 in which a vehicle was struck by a stone in the village.

There were no reports of any injuries and police said there was only a scrape on the vehicle.

But Sergeant Moore said: “We want to warn anybody involved in that type of behaviour of the danger of causing an accident in which somebody could get injured. In that case whoever throws a stone would be criminally liable.”
