Rates bills issued

RATES bills are being issued to homes and businesses across Newtownabbey this week by Land & Property Services (LPS), the Government Agency responsible for collecting rates.

The bill shows the amount owed for the billing period 2010/11 as well as any debt carried forward from previous years.

A new booklet containing useful information about how charges are calculated, methods of payment and how to get help with paying your rates is being sent out with the bills.

Meanwhile, people are being reminded that a range of reliefs and entitlements are available to ratepayers who are facing difficulty paying their rates bill.
