Rathcoole BB boys on parade at Parents Night

The 16th Newtownabbey Boys' Brigade Company Section held their annual Parents Evening on Wednesday, March 16 at the Belfast City Mission, Innis Walk, Rathcoole.

The theme for the evening was ‘The Somme 2016’.

The Drum Corps performed an item to the song ‘Soldier’, while the drill squad were dressed in 36th Ulster Division uniforms.

The event finale, set in a cemetery in the Somme region, paid tribute to those who fought at the Battle of the Somme 100 years ago.

Other items included a display by the Company Bugle Band and horsework team and team challenge. Those in attendance were also presented with a gospel message, encouraging them to accept God’s wonderful gift of salvation, only made possible by the sacrifice of Jesus at Calvary.

The main awards presented on the night were to Pte Mark Robinson (President’s Badge) and three Queen’s Badges to Sgt Jordan Forsythe, Cpl Nathan Forsythe and Cpl Matthew Simmons.
