Ronald McCready from Mourneview Park, Rathfriland appeared in the dock of the local Magistrates Court last Thursday morning when the charges were put to him.

Fifty-four year-old McCready is charged with falsely imprisoning a woman on August 8 2014 and of sexual assault on the same female.

He is also charged with harassing a second woman between September 30, 2012 and 30 September 2014, and of sexual assault on the same female between the same dates.

The fifth and final charge is indecent behaviour, which allegedly occurred in Mourneview Park on a date between June 1, 2014 and September 30, 2014.

A PSNI Constable told the court he believed he could connect McCready to the charges.

A PPS Prosecutor asked the court for a four week adjournment until November 20 to allow for a full file to be prepared.

McCready was remanded on bail of £750 with specific and strict instructions that he must not contact either female directly or indirectly.
