Rathkeel junction improved

Local MLA Paul Frew has commended Transport NI for resolving a long-standing visibility issue at Lisnamurrican Road/Rathkeel Road junction.

The DUP Assemblyman said having first contacted them in 2006 and he has been working with them since to try and create a safer environment at the crossroads.

“After a period of planning and development I am now very pleased to see that the work has been completed and the area is now a great amount safer.

“For a long time the visibility at this crossroads was a major issue and proving a daily hazard for traffic. The canopy of trees were shadowing the road to a great extent which meant that cars were being forced to pull out further from the crossroads to try and get a better sight of the road, hence putting vehicles travelling on both roads in great danger.”
