Ravernette WI back after break
The September meeting of Ravarnette WI opened with Doreen McCormick from Ulster Bank accepting a cheque for £500 on behalf of ‘Friends of Cancer’ from President Maureen Campbell and members.
Maureen then welcomed everyone back after the summer break and introduced speaker Nigel Speers, who gave a fascinating and illustrated talk on Irish Linen.
Nigel judged the competition themed on an ‘Artcile of Linen’.
Winners were: 1st Kathleen Cantley; 2nd Maureen Campbell; 3rd Rosaline Gabbie.
Ballot winner was June Walker and birthday girl was Brenda Gillespie.
