REACH Across volunteer youth leader training

CROSS-community youth group REACH Across are staging a Volunteer Training Night on Monday, September 27 (6.30 – 9.30pm). The training will cover Volunteer codes of conduct, child protection guidelines, residential planning, dealing with youth scenarios and organizational procedures.

If you are 18 – 19 years the training session will enable you to become an Assistant Leader and anyone 20yrs + will become a Group Leader. Following this training event, Volunteers will be invited to assist with activity residentials, training courses, weekly group meetings, international projects and possibly Management Committee duties.

In addition to the cross-community youth programme, Volunteers can apply for a range of courses such as first aid, drugs awareness, sports leadership, catering skills, watersports, community relations etc as well as attending international youth projects. Volunteers can also register for accredited youth and community courses.

Over the next few months REACH Across will be organizing a drama project, dance course, catering course and band skills. There will also be an activity residential in October and a number of after-school activities. Volunteers are welcome to take part in these events and next Spring there will be 6 activity residentials that aim to create cross-community contact between 200 young people in the North-West region.
