Rebekah speaks out for Fort Hill

On Wednesday November 19, after weeks of preparation and several nerve jangling rehearsals, Fort Hill College pupil Rebekah Dunne made her way to Hillsborough Village Centre to take part in the revered Soroptimist International Public Speaking Competition.

Competitors are required to deliver a speech on their chosen topic and are awarded marks for their introduction, how they develop the subject matter, structure, expressiveness, rhetoric and rapport with the audience. As Deputy Head Girl, Rebecca is a confident orator, but as always the competition was fierce.

Rebecca delivered an engaging, thought-provoking and, at times, humorous speech entitled, ‘Cyber world- friend or foe?’ Although she didn’t manage to secure one of the top three positions on the evening, she certainly did Fort Hill College proud and was awarded a certificate recognising her achievement.
