‘Record breakers’ theme at Carrick libraries

Library branches in Carrick will be holding free events to support the 2015 Summer Reading Challenge (July 1 - August 31).

Organised by The Reading Agency, the theme of this year’s challenge is ‘record breakers’.

Libraries across Northern Ireland are getting ready to encourage young readers aged 4 and up to explore some of the astonishing real-life achievements as featured in the Guinness World Records books.

Carrickfergus Library will host two themed storytime sessions on Tuesday (July 7) and on Tuesday, August 4, both at 3:30pm.

Greenisland Library will hold a craft and storytime event on July 27 from 2.30pm – 3.30pm, for children aged 5-8 years.

Whitehead Library will also host a storytime and craft session on Wednesday, August 19 from 11.00am – 12.00pm for children aged 4-8 years.

Booking is essential for the Greenisland and Whitehead events.
