Recycle those unwanted gifts

Barnardo’s NI is urging people in Carrick to help vulnerable children by recycling unwanted Christmas gifts.

The children’s charity is appealing for unwanted presents from the festive season to be donated to their shop on High Street so they can be sold on to raise vital funds.

All money raised in Barnardo’s shops is used to fund a large number of the charity’s projects across the region, supporting children affected by urgent issues such as poverty, abuse and disability.

“We’ve all received a gift at Christmas that’s not suitable or we quite simply don’t want,” said Diane Winter, Barnardo’s NI Retail Manager.

“By donating any unwanted Christmas presents to our shops you will not only be ‘recycling’ but also helping Northern Ireland’s most disadvantaged children.

“Every year Barnardo’s NI works to turn around the lives of thousands of children, young people and their families in over 40 projects across the region.

“Every penny raised plays a vital part in ensuring we continue to support these children.”
