The Red Arrows were once a regular feature in the skies above the city of Derry/ Londonderry, as they put on a number of displays at the air show once organised here by Derry City Council.

The show now takes place at Portrush where it has been staged since 2002.

The weekend regularly attracts crowds of up to 200,000 and is now firmly established as Ireland’s largest airshow. This year’s NI International Airshow at Portrush takes place on Saturday August 31 and Sunday September 1.

Our thanks to Geoff Brownhut for this video which shows the Red Arrows performing in Derry in 1997.
