Red Bay launch after body found

RED Bay RNLI lifeboat crew were paged shortly after 9am on Sunday morning to assist with the recovery of a body at Murloch Bay on the North Antrim coast.

The body was removed from the scene by Ambulance crew from the shoreline with the assistance of Coastguards and local Police.

Earlier this week the Red Bay crew launched after the report of Red Distress flares been spoted by a member of the public near Cushendun.

The alarm was raised shortly after midnight. The Lifeboat crew along with Coastguards from Ballycastle searched the area for over 2 hours but nothing was found. With no reports of any vessels missing or overdue the search was ended.
