Reflections on 2013 at St John’s Watchnight

The service was conducted by the Rev Joanne Megarrell (Rector) assisted by Bertie Logan (Diocesan Lay Reader) and reflections of the year 2013 were given by Emma Fleming and Iain McAleavey.

Irene Cunningham presided at the organ and together with the church choir led the celebratory praise that included, ‘Lead us heavenly Father lead us’. During the service Colin Morwood rang out the old year 2013 and rang in the New Year 2014.

The Rev Megarrell gave a challenging address and in her closing prayer, spoke of ‘looking back with thanks to God’, ‘looking forward to serve God’ and ‘looking within to find God’.

Supper was served afterwards in the adjoining Bateman Suite.
