Regeneration plenarysession

A PLENARY session relating to the regeneration of the City will take place in the Millennium Forum on Monday next, September 27, beginning at 6pm.

The programme after the official welcome and opening by Ilex chief executive, Aideen McGinley, will get underway at 6.05pm with background infomation and an overview of the plan by Gerard McCleave from Ilex.

Beginning at 6.15pm is the first of five successive 15-minute themed information sections on the following topics: 1, Employment and Economy; Growing the Digital Economy, City of Culture/Tourism and Co-operative and Social Enterprise Hub. Theme 2, Education and Skills: covering Higher Education Expansion, Early Intervention in Education and Strategy for Skills Escalation and Employment. Theme 3, Building Better Communities: Foyle Valley Gateway and Quality Places, Spaces and Neighbourhoods. Theme 4, Health and Well Being; Early Intervention in Health, and Theme 5, Sustainable and Connected City Region, including the proposal for creation of an Eco-City and an Integrated Transport Strategy.

At 7.15pm a half-hour group discussion and Q&A session will take place followied by a 10-minute session entitled ‘What is important to me?’ before the evening is brought ot a close with a five-minute ‘Reflection’ session.
