Rehearsals step up a gear for Fusion

Rehearsals for Fusion Theatre's '˜Whistle Down the Wind' stepped up a gear last weekend as they moved into the home straight before the four performances in Lagan Valley Island at the start of March.

Director Ian Milford and choreographer Jillian Liggett spent the weekend working with both cast, snakes, classic motorbikes, and a set, which included a caravan and a bridge.

As all of the elements came together, Ian Milford said he is delighted with the performances of his young cast, as well as the amazing set, which has been lovingly constructed by a team of parents and supporters.

“Fusion has a great advantage in that the set team can build the set at our premises at LEO, and then the cast can rehearse on the set from a relatively early stage. This means that we can all get used to working with the set, and this makes for both more professional performances, in terms of both cast and stage team. “

Fusion Theatre is keen to improve access to the arts, and the performance on Friday March 4 will include a sign language performer, Steve Conlon, who has been working with Fusion Theatre over the last few years.

However,as Chairperson Anne McCleary said: “None of this would be possible without the support of the Arts Council of NI (lottery funding), Lisburn Enterprise Organisation, or the St Annes Christmas Sit Out Appeal.”
