Remembrance Sunday arrangements

The Lord Lieutenants deputy Harry Boyle lays the first wreath on behalf of the Queen, at the War Memorial Service of Remembrance in Limavady on Sunday. INLV4611-628KDR

On Remembrance Sunday, November 10, 2013, at 10.30 a.m. the first wreath will be laid at the War Memorial by Her Majesty’s representative, Deputy Lieutenant for County Londonderry, Harry Boyle. Public representatives, youth groups and ex-service associations will then lay their wreaths and the final wreath laid will be on behalf of all the people of the Borough. Canon Sam Mc Veigh, MBE, who is the Padre to The Royal British Legion in N. Ireland will lead a short interdenominational service accompanied by Monsignor Mc Canny. Music will be provided by Limavady Big Band Sound. Following the service there will be a parade to Drumachose Parish Church led by the Trench Memorial Flute Band. On the return route HM Deputy Lieutenant for County Londonderry and the Vice President of The Royal British Legion will take a salute outside the Council Offices on Connell Street. Over the past number of years there has been a marked increase in the numbers attending this tribute to the fallen and we would encourage everyone in Limavady to come along.
