Mr Wilson reported that a number of constituents has been in contact with him about the traffic islands and they have asked him to lobby Roads Service about their removal.

Mr Wilson said: “Constituents have been in contact with me about the potential danger

that these traffic islands are causing.

“The road is not wide enough for traffic to pass by if there are cars parked on the kerb as often happens outside the football club. Traffic then has to pass by driving on the other side of the traffic islands and this is not ideal.

“I have contacted Roads Service and asked for them to review the reasons why these islands were erected in the first place and if they can be removed.

“Their removal would help the flow of traffic in this area and stop the dangerous practice of traffic having to drive on the other side on the road.”
