Remove Heights graffiti: Leonard

SEIN Fein MLA Billy Leonard has said that reactions to the loyalist graffiti at the Heights near the scene of Kevin McDaid's murder are "very muted" compared with the outcry from agencies and politicians if it came from the republican and nationalist community.

He has called on agencies to remove it.

“None of us want any graffiti and this latest mess is all about loyalist paramilitaries”, he said.

“If there was graffiti placed by republicans or nationalists my phone would be buzzing from all local agencies and politicians.

“Yet there hasn’t been a word about this latest provocative ‘art-work’.

“I have already phoned Council officials and am calling on the agencies to act swiftly. There cannot be a de facto difference made by those who should act against all graffiti.”
