Repair of neglected roads in Mid Ulster Council area '˜an equality issue'
The comment was made by Council Chair, Cllr Linda Dillon, who tabled a motion asking that the council “looks at what can be done under the power of general competency to assist historical unadopted developments where no bond exists that have suffered from years of neglect by relevant agencies”.
Highlighting the situation facing people living in the Currans Brae area, Cllr Dillon said: “I think this is an area that can be addressed by the council as it actually belongs to the council. Council has a responsibility. The road here is in a dangerous state and most elderly people live there.”

Dungannon Independent councillor, Barry Monteith, commented thus, adding: “I support the motion and if the legislation allows the council to do this it should be done.”
