Rescue unit tasked after children in inflatable kayak blown out from shore.

A warning has been issued after two children were spotted in an inflatable kayak getting blown out from the shore.

Lough Neagh Rescue were tasked by the Belfast Coastguard at 12.49 on Sunday after it received reports about the children.

A spokesperson for Lough Neagh Rescue said: “Tasked by CGOC Belfast Coastguard to reports of an inflatable kayak with two children onboard that was getting blown out from the shore

“Lifeboats quickly launched but where stood down as the children were able to paddle safely back to shore.

“We would like to thank the member of the public who raised the alarm as you can never be to sure of the situation and it’s better to have alerted the coastguard sooner rather than later

“Boats returned to base and made ready for next tasking.”
