Research lessons for family history group

MEMBERS of the Larne branch of the North of Ireland Family History Society have received guidance on genealogical research using newspaper archives.

The branch met for the first time this year in September in their new venue at The Cliff, where the speaker was Dr David Hume and his topic was researching the family tree using old newspapers. He gave the group many pointers and everyone went away having gained a little more information.

In October, the Public Record Office was visited and all who travelled were impressed by the layout and the help they received from the staff.
