After the meeting on Wednesday, November 20, the residents said they feel that they are “no closer to getting the footpath made.”

Angela Bell has been campaigning on the issue for a number of years. She feels that due to a shortage of funding within DRD, the path is no closer to being constructed.

“It boils down to funding verses safety, and funding seems to come first. The site visit felt like just another opportunity for us to get our point across, but without the funding the scheme will not get the go ahead,” she said.

DUP Cllr Stephen Ross attended the site meeting. He is set to raise the issue of the need for a footpath with Department for Regional Development Minister Michelle McIlveen.
